Finally, it's cherry blossom time

vamysteryfanWe had an unusually cold March. The last couple of days the temperature went over 80 degrees and the blossoms just came bursting out. In honor of simonesa, lovekeller and krisserci, I thought I'd take a walk around the Tidal Basin. It's changed a lot over the last few years. There's a new George Mason memorial, in addition to FDR and MLK Jr. The repairs to the front of the Jefferson Memorial were completed, but the scaffolding is going up on the Washington Monument to repair earthquake damage.
