Bones in the Attic by Robert Barnard. Slightly sadder than his usual style. A homebuyer finds a tiny skeleton in the attic and tries to track down its origin. The killer is nastier than usual too. But the unravelling is very well done.

Icy Clutches by Aaron Elkins. Another good entry in the Gideon Oliver series. I learned something about skeletal/muscular connections and glaciers. Odd combination from anyone else but it works here. Oliver's wife is right ore often than not which is also nice.

There Goes the Neighborhood by Susan Goldman Rubin. A fun, easy read about ten buildings that people originally hated but later appreciated. I learned a lot about different architects and styles. I loved the section on Philip Johnson's Glass House. I didn't know there was a whole associated complex.

This week's getting clever books were aimed at learning more about world geography. I thought a fun way to learn would be through guidebooks. So I got a guidebook on Africa and one on adventure travel that went around the globe. I figured they'd be up to date and cover notable physical features. They made me want to travel, too.
