Friday up at Moonridge

Breakfast Friday morning was at IHOP. We likes pancakes, we do. We then proceeded to support the local economy. First we walked up to the little shopping area between the hotel and Moonridge. The shops were cute, with souvenirs and books. There was one shop called "Bear Mountain." It fit nicely with the weekend's theme (see slogan). I picked up a Christmas tree ornament with little bears. The outside of the shop had some very creative weather vanes.
On the walk back to the hotel, I ran across the street ahead of the others and got these pictures:

Then we went to the Village and went through a number of their shops. Of course we started with the Leather Depot :) Chris won with the most items purchased, including a gorgeous blue-green sundress. Kathy and Sally got some very interesting books on Native American practices. I got another Christmas tree ornament of a biker bear. We had the most delicious ice cream at a candy store. Great mango and raspberry sorbet and my dark chocolate ice cream was to die for. The lady at the counter was very generous with the samples. They had a gift box full of a variety of body frostings. I wish I had photos of the reactions when I showed the box around.
At some point Kathy morphed from the the directionally challenged one into the Diva and the rest of us were her entourage. Jen was the not very bright one, Sally was the good one, and Chris was most likely to lead the rebellion. I of course am The Scribe ::preens::.
Some of the others went for a drive around the lake, but I conked out briefly. We had a brief sojourn in the hot tub. At first it failed to bubble properly. Kathy and Sally gave up and went back to their room to change, at which point the bubbles finally appeared. We all stuck our feet in the water. Their reaction was priceless when they got back. There are no photos of the hot tub - Kathy threatened me with a spanking.
We met up with Rae, Gerri, and Tina (luna_61) for dinner at the Log Cabin.

The new owner bought it last July but he assured us he had all the recipes. The food was delicious and the portions were huge. The conversation was very entertaining. Plot bunnies were jumping all over the table - AUs of a Pony Express Sentinel and a Lumberjack Sentinel, as well as a sequel to the Muses story. We mentioned to the new owner that we wanted the German Chocolate Cake drink for dessert and he went out and bought the special ingredient for us (Rae has the recipe - I think it's Kahlua, vanilla vodka, Fra Angelica and cream). Completely yummy but very potent. Suffice it to say I should NOT try to provide directions after having those. Then more Sentinel episodes before bed.
Next - what you've all been waiting for - Sentinel Day at Moonridge! And Garett!
