I went for an early morning walk to admire the progress of spring in my neighborhood. Just a couple of nice days and things start blooming like crazy. We've got crocuses, early cherry blossoms, gorgeous daffodils, and the forsythia blooms while you watch it. It's funny - the houses that face south have blossoms ahead of the house that face north. It's really noticeable when you're at ground level, as opposed to going by so quickly on the bus.

Last night I tried Alton Brown's recipe for tomato sauce. It turned out very well. He puts the sauce under the broiler for 15 minutes at the end (stirring every five minutes so it doesn't burn). It comes out incredibly sweet with concentrated tomato-ey goodness. I left the notebook with the recipe at home. I'll post it tomorrow if anyone's interested.

I bought a nice bottle of red wine from a group raising money for burn victims and had nice pasta and wine for dinner. And today I am at work.
