Anybody really good with iPods here

vamysteryfanCause I'm having a freakout.
I left my iPod plugged in during lunch so it could charge. When I got back to my desk all of my music, videos and podcasts were gone! I unplugged it and replugged it in and then looked at iTunes thinking I could restore but there's nothing there.
Is it all gone? or does someone have something magic that I just don't know about.
ETA: To be more clear, I used the Restore function on iTunes, thinking it would restore my stuf from its library. It renamed the iPod and I have nuthin.
