Happy Friday!
May. 20th, 2022 10:06 pmTime to get the extra ice going! It's headed for the mid-90s in the District. Summer always seems to arrive very rapidly here.
In a first for me, I saw a snake in the neighborhood park this morning, booking it (as fast as a snake can book) for a shadier, cooler park of the park.
There are two batches of new ducklings at the SW Duckpond. The mamas get very territorial about the best feeding spots. I watched them actually start to fight about it. The small children watching were very puzzled about the goings-on. But the teeny ducklings are so cute!
What I'm reading: Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky. Really different take on terraforming and what happens in the future. To Drink and To Eat by Guillaume Long is a very different take on a cookbook. It's a graphic cookbook originally written in French. The drawings are good and different from the usual American graphics. I'd call it clever rather than useful but it's very clever!
Not sure what my plans are for the weekend but if it gets as hot as they say, I will be staying inside and reading> Do you have any good plans?
