I spent a little too much time this weekend watching Hurricane Ike's progress. Even after it was downgraded, it kept clobbering the Mississippi valley. I hope everyone on my flist is safe and didn't lose too much. The news is saying it might take up to a week to restore power in parts of Texas.

I listened to the Torchwood radio program from the BBC. That was a lot of fun. Anyone know if they are only doing the one or if I should watch for more of them?

Wow, you all were busy this weekend. I think I've finally caught up with my flist.

Yesterday I watched "The Last Lecture" by Randy Pausch. He's the professor who gave a lecture after learning he had about six months to live. I'd heard a lot about it, even scanned the book in the boostore. Words on a page didn't do him justice. His presentation was so dynamic. What he had to say resonated with me a lot. I believe it's available on YouTube in several sections. His university Carnegie Mellon also offers it for download here http://download.srv.cs.cmu.edu/~pausch/

It was really worth the time
