I am WAY too dependent on electronics

Otherwise known as "Curse you, Daylight Savings Time!"

Last weekend was the traditional weekend for the end of Daylight Saving Time. My VCR reset itself and could not be corrected. So it went a week with the wrong time and I had to readjust my recordings. Other digital objects ignored the date.

The weekend just past was the new end of DST. VCR is now correct without further action from me. TiVO reset itself appropriately. The new updated telephone (old version reset itself correctly last spring) did not reset and I had to do it manually. iPod had to be reset manually. Digital camera (of all objects) correctly reset itself so all my photos and vids are properly dated. Assorted clocks in the house were manually reset.

All because of stupid legislation passed last spring.

Dear Congress:

Please to stop messing around with DST. Plzthxbye!

And while I'm in the mood

A bunch of people at work have been posting pictures of their cute little kids in hallowe'en costumes. I'm okay with that really (the pics are adorable) but they weren't editing the photo files down, so they are taking up humongous amounts of space in everybody's inbox.
