A Sentinel moment
Aug. 22nd, 2005 11:40 amIn the Travel section of yesterday's Washington Post, they had a story about visiting Peru. First they mentioned how it wasn't "the jungles of Peru" even though everyone says jungles (it's rainforest). And then they described the guide they hired for their stay: "Edward could spot a flock of macaws two miles away and a rare bug or leaf inches beyond our footsteps. He heard birds long before he found them with his high-powered binoculars and tripod, which he carried on his back. He helped us find not just a couple of monkeys but enormous troops of monkeys swinging through the second layer of the triple-canopy rain forest." Sounds Sentinelish to me. Being in the jungles of Peru has heightened his senses?
