Arts on Foot Day

The other thing I did this weekend was Arts On Foot. It's a day in DC when lots of DC museums and art galleries have special offerings, plus there's a big street festival. I started out at Woolly Mammoth's new theatre home and took the tour. Plus there was Haagen Daas ice cream. Then I went to the Bead Museum. They are offering a class in seed beading in October. I think I might take it. Then I hit a couple of art galleries on my way to the street festival. There were various kinds of music and street comedy, lots of booths selling things, and snacks. It was a little on the humid side so I quit after a few hours. All in all, a nice day and a good day outside. The first time I went was in 2001, just a few weeks after 9/11. The atmosphere was a bit subdued that day. I'm glad it bounced back to be so lively.
