Happy Canada Day

 to my Canadian friends!

Hard to believe the year is half over. I don't know where the time goes. June was pretty busy for me, with birthdays and graduations. I've been trying to go to more classes at night. I went to an interesting lecture on how climate change is affecting the oceans. It was sponsored by the European Union, so it had a more international flavor. The speakers were pretty high level - the former Secretary of the Interior (not the jerk we have now) and the EU Ambassador to the US. The keynote speaker was very funny and very pointed. There was also an exhibit of photos of damage to the environment.

I also gotten interested in data privacy issues. Basically we have none, but it's worth trying to protect what we have. The EU led the way on that one too. So many American websites decided to adhere to the EU GDPR.

The weather is hazy, ot and humid. I think I'll be staying indoors today with a good book. Possible Martha Grimes' latest Jury mystery.
