Continuing education
Jul. 17th, 2013 06:35 pmI went to another class on HootSuite, a software product that allow users to parse tweets for just about anyone. Attendees were really engaged, asked lots of good questions. I learned quite a lot.
I do get a little creeped out when I stop to think about the amount of data out there to be analyzed. Hootsuite can generate sentiment reports on positive or negative tweets with gradations of color showing love to hate. It can be a really amazing customer service tool but it could also be a little strange having people pop p in your twitter stream with suggestions or responses. The guy from the White House who monitors social media was there. He stayed pretty quiet but they clearly keep an eye out.
There was a woman there from Pinterest. Man, that site has gotten to be a seller's market. Lots of branding and disguised ads going on.
