Dec. 18th, 2011 04:35 pmAfter seeing the US Botanic Gardens, I had high hopes for the museums on the Mall. I was sure they'd be spectacular. Alas, such is not the case. Apart from swags on the columns and on balconies, there wasn't much, with a few exceptions.
The Natural History Museum had a tree decked out in all kinds and sizes of butterflies. The Castle had the best one - all sorts of birds, but especially owls. It would be a little disconcerting to have that in your home, I'd think, but it was very cute. Look for the birdhouses.
