The dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning

We had a neighborhood disaster Saturday night. A family down the street ran a generator without proper ventilation. Three members of the family died from carbon monoxide poisoning. Today members of the Fire Department came around knocking on doors, distributing flyers, checking on the smoke detectors, etc.

I'm actually a little conscious of the dangers, ever since the tennis player Vitas Gerulatis died from CO2 in a pool house. I keep a window cracked a little all the time. The firefighters were nice too.

So Happy Victoria Day to the Canadians, Happy Memorial Day to the Americans, and I hope my British flist enjoyed the Bank Holiday.

It was a little too hot and humid today so I stayed inside and worked on Pinky most of the day (Pinky is the new netbook, Brain is the laptop).

I had a fab time with snycock yesterday. There will be photos and videos RSN.

I was going to post about a watermelon salad, but really there's nothing finer (and more signifying summer) than a plate of chilled watermelon slices (with a glass of Chardonnay loitering nearby).
