Nov. 21st, 2008 04:33 pmMy colleagues from India went home today. It was fun having them here. Lots of information exchanges and useful work tips. And then there was the touring/eating portions of the festivities.
We got them to sample cuisines that they wouldn't necessarily have at home. Belgian, Irish, Japanese sushi, Mexican, Chinese. I took them to California Pizza Kitchen, which they liked a lot. I thought the mango chicken pizza would be exotic, but they actually eat that all the time at home. Exotic to them was the Italian sausage/pepperoni/mushroom pizza.
We also had a traditional Thanksgiving meal for them. Turkey and ham, plus yams, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, baked macaroni, rolls. Plus five kinds of dessert. The big hit was the green beans with French-fried onions on top.
And they liked the Mall with the Smithsonian museums and the mall with Marshall's and Macy's.
Maybe after I've been here a while, they'll send me to india.
