Slippin' and a-slidin'

Wow, is it icy out there! It's actually warmer today than it was yesterday, but the freezing temperatures last night put down a thin layer of black ice. I stepped out the door this morning and wham! right down on my butt. Luckily it's well-padded :) I think I'll skip the spanking meme that's going around - my butt's already sore.

I've had a busy week. A friend is headed back to LA after 3 months here on temporary duty. We had a going away party. A group I do a lot of volunteer work for had its holiday party too. That turned out to be a lot of fun. We had someone give a short presentation on how to work company parties and business-type events. She was a great speaker. Who knew women had so much anxiety about shaking hands? The snacks were great - I had buffalo and it was tasty.

The weekend is dedicated to shopping and movies. Brokeback Mountain got good reviews. I think I'll see it even though the ending is very sad. And maybe Harry Potter at the IMAX theatre.
And there's all this new Sentinel fic just waiting for me to read. Life is good!
