My lovely weekend
Jul. 18th, 2005 03:11 pmI had a nice weekend cat-sitting, while some friends were away at a family reunion. Ben is a Himalayan. They shaved him for the summer. He looked just like a little smoke-gray lion with blue eyes, the oriental kind of lion. His body and tail were shaved except for his legs, so he had a big fur ruff, furry legs, and a little tuft at the end of his tail. He was happy as long as I trailed a string for him to jump at. I took a few photos, which I'll share when they are developed.
I read The Right Guide, after threatening arnie with Sister's Book for Smiting. It's really wonderful. It's a different take on the guide/sentinel dynamic, plus there's no nasty GDP. I liked it a lot. I see she's now posting it to her LJ, which is a good thing. Now if we could just get fingers to post more of Boot....
Thanks to the cleverness and generosity of tesserae and peter_neverland, it looks like I'm going to Moonridge! I have some more logistics to work out, but I bought the plane tickets yesterday. Woohoo!
While I was trailing the string for Ben, I read the new Harry Potter. Miles better than the last one! I'm not into that fandom at all, but it's a good book.
