Paranoia strikes deep, into your life it will creep

The preparation for this inauguration is quite different from the last one. I realize some security changes are necessary but I think they've gone overboard. My work neighborhood is being transformed and I mean that in a bad way. They've been putting up barriers in strange places. Then they put up these Jersey barriers cater-cornered on the sidewalks to make it harder to cross the streets. Last night they were fencing off the MCI Center during rush hour. MCI Center sits on top of Gallery Place, a major transfer station for Metro. They warned us that if we parked at Union Station this morning, the car had to be out of there by noon, or we'd lose access to it for a couple of days. Weirdness.
