And in other news....
The landlord who grinched Christmas told us we had to move by March 1. On Saturday, I find out he's casually told my housemate, no, we have to be out by February 20. Now 8 days might not seem like much, but how many apartments open up in the middle of the month. I may be lucky enough to find a place by February 1, but if I'm not, I need to be secure until March 1. The housemate is ballistic, but also strangely wimpy, muttering about friendship, etc. I'm not his friend and I've got a valid lease through March 31. I'm trying to decide how much of a troublemaker it's worth being. But hey, I'm the US and the world is my f***ing oyster.
