As part of closing out my mother's apartment, I've been sorting out her books. She really loved mysteries. My father also loved them - he worked for a mystery publisher.

So many of her books I gave her, but others came from my siblings. There are only so many I can keep. The rest I hope to find good homes for.

She loved Tony Hillerman, Dick Francis, Mary Higgins Clark, and "The Cat Who" books. She liked, but didn't share my extreme fondness for, Elizabeth Peters. I didn't understand her fondness for Barbara Michaels. Odd, since it's the same author under different names.

Going through these books is a great nostalgia trip. I can remember her readig them and commenting. Happy memories lighten grief.
