Playing with my food again

I've been thinking on reconstructing soups as salads or sandwiches. I detoured into different ways of eating veggies. Specifically, I present the ribbon salad. All these veggies are easy to eat raw, so it was a nice light filling salad on a hot day. I used my parer to make ribbons (the long way) from cucumber and zucchini. Safeway was out of yellow squash but they would have been pretty too.

I ribboned the fattest carrot I had and sliced Roma tomatoes and red onion the long way to come as close as I could to ribbons. I tossed it by hand and it looked messy. So then I composed it a bit and it was good.

If I hadn't been so hungry, I'd have salted the cucumber and let it release some moisture before adding it to the salad. And I had too much red onion.
